In Mexico, I gained back what’s priceless: peace, freedom, and being present every single day. Now I walk my children to school, play with them at the park, and sleep peacefully at night. True wealth is time and the happiness I share with my family.

I followed migrants through the Darien Gap — one of the most dangerous jungles on earth. We passed mountains, rivers, snakes… and even the bodies of those who didn’t survive. It was heartbreaking, but I filmed everything to show the human faces behind migration. People don’t risk their lives in that jungle for adventure — they do it because it’s their only hope of survival.
Numbers make us less capable of feeling. But when we see the people, we can feel.
I was born in Romania during communism, surrounded by rules, fear, and trauma. Deep inside, I always felt I was meant for more. Leaving my country took courage, but it gave me freedom — the freedom to be authentic, to speak my truth, and to grow. Every immigrant carries both pain and hope, but also the determination to transform their life."
